About the Root to Rise Garden:

The Root to Rise Garden is located at the Potomac Vegetable Farms’ Loudoun location. (Purcellville also works when using GPS for navigation). This garden holds a very special place in our hearts. It is a central gathering space for the community and it holds many memories of sunset outdoor dinners filled with song, good food and dancing, as well as community goat roasts, countless peer led summer workshops in the shade of the outdoor kitchen, and memories of volunteer work days filled with sweat and hard work building the garden into what it is today. It is also a place of joy and wonder for many of the sweet children in our lives, the home of the outdoor “Garden Sprouts” program for preschool age children, which Sophia co-runs and teaches, and where Michael has taught.

Sophia designed the garden as an educational and community garden space eight years ago and has been tending it along with dedicated volunteers ever since. The garden is very kid friendly with a perimeter fence, playground, and berry bushes for kids and adults alike to snack on. We hope you enjoy the magic of the garden as much as we do. We are so grateful to Potomac Vegetable Farms for their generous hearts in opening up and sharing this space everyday, and especially on this day.
